The farmhouse
An oasis of calm
Whether you want to relax for half a day or for several days, the Antica Masseria Gargiuffè offers you a new way to have it. The accommodation facility has 25 beds divided into apartments with private bathrooms.
It is part of a 130-hectare farm. It is located at the foot of Monte Cammarata and is surrounded by the homonymous reserve and the “Parco di Monti Sicani”. Its distance from the main roads ensures restful silence.
The surrounding nature is of particular interest as it offers three different aspects: that of the harsh and uncontaminated mountain landscape, that of large woods open to interesting excursions on foot or on horseback or by mountain bike, and that of the slow degradation of the former large estate towards the sea. The various routes are well indicated and do not present any difficulties.
Of special interest is a visit to the ancient Eremo della Quisquina, built on the cave indicated by tradition as a refuge and place of residence of the patron saint of Palermo, Santa Rosalia, daughter of the lords of the place.

Culinary traditions and authenticity
The kitchen, supervised directly by the owners and by an exceptional chef, offers menus of extraordinary richness and preciousness. It covers the whole range of traditional dishes and is based on highly genuine local products, whose variety is marked by the succession of the seasons.
In particular, it is based on the meat of the Sicani Mountains, on the famous local dairy products, on the vegetables produced on the farm and on the products of the rich local hunting activity. In addition, at the request of customers, the menu includes a choice of delicious dishes based on extremely fresh fish, found directly at the landing places in the port of Sciacca by the owner, assisted by the skilful experience of the chef.
